| Barlow Well Dressings take place in August each year. The tradition dates back to 1615, when the village well continued to give water freely in spite of a drought. In Barlow we dress our Wells using the whole flower heads and not petals as in the rest of Derbyshire. The wells are dressed in situ and not separate trays which are carried to the Well when dressed. Please click on the photos to see the wells in all their glory. These are photos of the 2008 Well Dressing. Check out the Church page for the latest Flower Festival photographs. | |
